DANNY Graham and Gordon Greer remain doubts for tomorrow's trip to Bristol City, but Wes Brown is moving closer to a return to first team action.

Graham has been on the sidelines with a groin injury since he was replaced in the second half of the 1-0 defeat at Birmingham at the start of the month.

Greer was substituted at half-time in last Saturday's 0-0 draw against Ipswich Town with a similar complaint.

Rovers boss Owen Coyle confirmed they are continuing their recovery and hasn't completely ruled them out of making the squad at Ashton Gate.

He also revealed that veteran centre-half Brown trained this week, although he lacked match fitness and may also have to sit out this weekend.

Gordon Greer and Danny Graham continue to get better," said Coyle.
"Whether Saturday comes too soon, we’ll have to ascertain that in the next day or so, but it would be great to have them available.

"Wes Brown will be able to train with the group, but the challenge for him is he obviously hasn’t had that game under his belt that we’d like.

"Wes is obviously further head of both Graham and Greer because he trained with the group on Monday.

"We will just have to look at those players and see if they are available for Bristol City.

"If not, the group we had available the other night (against Nottingham Forest) will go there, and there’s one of two on the periphery who are champing at the bit to be involved."

That group that secured Rovers second home win of the season on Tuesday night included midfielder Corry Evans, who had a late fitness test before playing the full 90 minutes.

And his manager praised the 26-year-old's desire to take part, even though he picked up a knock against Ipswich and had been on the road with his country during the international break.

Coyle added: "Corry had the fatigue of travelling with Northern Ireland and I don’t think he’s the best in terms of travelling and how you body deals with that.

"On the back of that he got a bang higher up on the calf against Ipswich, came off and couldn’t train on Monday.

"But such was his desire that he wanted to play that he said he’d have a late fitness test half an hour before the match on Tuesday and he felt good to go.

"He again performed very well, but the thing for me was that he wanted to be out there for Blackburn Rovers and I think that tells you the mentality of the group."

Ben Marshall is also available tomorrow after receiving a painkilling injection in his hip before Tuesday's clash.
