ROVERS certainly owed a debt of gratitude to goalkeeper Jason Steele on Saturday - but after Tuesday night if he sees me he’d better cross the road!

Other than that, it was a satisfying evening.

Sam Gallagher owed us a performance after a poor showing on Saturday and he paid in full.

Only a grouch would deny him the man of the match award, but the tremendous display from a fully-fit Corry Evans ran him close.

The key, at the moment, is to eradicate the silly mistakes (are you listening, Jason?), not lose games and to beat those teams around us.

Another four points from the next two games would be good going.

Getting something at Bristol City this weekend is important, but beating the erratic Wolves a week on Saturday is imperative.
