RIBBLESDALE League leaders Clitheroe remain in the hunt for the T20 title after they progressed through to final's day on Friday night.

Clitheroe got the better of Read by nine wickets with more than five overs to spare thanks to an opening partnership of 85 from Ali Ross and Janaka Gunaratne. The latter was the only wicket to fall as he was dismissed for 41 with Ross unbeaten on 44 as Clitheroe comfortably reached their target of 104.

Earlier, Joe Marshall top scored for Read as they were bowled out for 103 in 19.2 overs. Marshall. who took the sole Clitheroe wicket made 31.

Joshua Marquet took three wickets for Clitheroe.

Final's day will be held at Cherry Tree after they secured their place with a victory over Salesbury.

Cherry Tree had Nas Iqbal to thank for the win after he took 4-18 to help bowl Salesbury out for just 96.

Joe Rawlinson (17) and Andrew Mercer (10) were the only Salesbury batsman to reach double figures and Cherry Tree had little trouble chasing down that total.

Steffan Klopper's 47 at the top of the order anchored the innings as Cherry Tree eased to a seven wicket win with more than three overs to spare.

Elsewhere, Section B promotion chasers Padiham overcame Whalley while Euxton overcame Baxenden.

Euxton's Guarav Dhar hit 40 as the home side made an imposing 137-6 batting first. Mark Winrow made 26 and Jacob Meredith 21 while Matthew Schofield took 2-11 for the home side.

Brad Moses' 29 ball 30 at the top of the order got Baxenden off to a good start in reply but they were always chasing their tail and although Kurt Smithson added 20 from number 10 they fell short 11 runs short as they were bowled out for 126 in 19.4 overs.

Padiham are also through to final's day after they won a thrilling match against Whalley by three runs.

Padiham batted first and made 161-6 thanks to half centuries from Nathan Whitehead and Michael Letson. Whitehead top scored with 52 but it was Letson who caught the eye with a 22-ball 51.

In reply, Whalley looked like they would race home after an opening partnership of 89 from Mark Fallon, who top scored with 67, and Yogesh Takawale (38).

After that partnership was broken Padiham took five middle order wickets for just three runs to see them home as Whalley closed on 158-7.
