MICHAEL Keane is set to be offered a four-year deal by Burnley in a bid to ward off interest from Leicester City.

The 23-year-old has been the subject of interest from the Premier League champions this summer, with the Clarets rejecting a bid that could have reached £15million last week.

Burnley are determined to hold on to the central defender, who has two years remaining on his current Turf Moor contract.

And it is understood he has been offered a four-year deal that would make him one of Burnley's highest paid players.

Keane played 44 times for the Clarets as they won the Championship title last summer and his partnership with Ben Mee at the back was a crucial aspect of the 23-game unbeaten run that secured an immediate Premier League return for Sean Dyche's side.

The Foxes retain an interest in Keane, who played 27 times for them in a long spell at the King Power Stadium in the 2012/13 season, and he is highly-rated by Leicester's head of recruitment Steve Walsh.
