DANNY Graham is interested in signing for Blackburn Rovers now they have appointed Owen Coyle as their new manager.

The striker is in demand after a superb second half of the season on loan at Rovers from Sunderland.

Graham left a lasting impression on supporters as he scored seven goals in 18 games and produced a series of talismanic displays.

But his fine form in the blue and white halved shirt has led to interest from clubs on both sides of the border.

Glasgow giants Celtic and Rangers, as well as Wigan Athletic, Birmingham City and Preston North End, have all enquired about Graham.

But the 30-year-old has always insisted he would be willing to listen to what Rovers had to say provided they retained an interest in signing him.

Coyle immediately expressed his admiration for Graham after being named as Paul Lambert’s successor.

And it is understood Rovers’ owners Venky’s were also impressed by the former Watford and Swansea City frontman during his four-month stay at the club.

That opens the door to talks with Graham’s representatives about a permanent move to Ewood Park once his Sunderland contract runs out on June 30.

Coyle said last week: “Danny is a good player and given his situation there’s no doubt that he’s going to have some very big offers on the table.

“He’s an outstanding player, somebody I’ve always liked, and that’s all relative to what we can do.

“Ultimately we’ll work within everything we’ve got here to bring those players in and Danny’s a very good player.

“Whether we can get him to the football club, because I know he’ll have some very big offers, remains to be seen.

“But we’ll leave no stone unturned to try to get good players to the club that we think can enhance the team because that’s important.”

Coyle is busy attempting to bolster the Rovers ranks following his appointment last Thursday.

He is hoping to make a number of signings given he has just 14 outfield players contracted to the club beyond the end of this month.

But he admits it is unlikely he will have his final squad in place by the time the players return to training in the final week of June.

Coyle, who is understood to be keen to tie down left-back Tommy Spurr to a new contract, said: “Any manager would tell you that they would love to have their squad in for the first day of pre-season but that will never happen for a number of reasons.

“We’ve got a couple of players at the Euros for instance, so given the length of time that they are involved they'll probably need some rest as well.

“So all in all, we’ll look to get those pieces that we can just now before pre-season starts and continually add to that so that come the first day of the season we are ready to start and have a squad that can go and compete in a very tough Championship environment.

“We’ll be working our socks off to try and bring those players in that can help this team, have a good pre-season, and put those bits in place that can help us over the course of the season.”
