DANNY Graham is eyeing a permanent Blackburn Rovers stay after admitting the club already feels like home.

Graham is just four weeks into his four-month loan from Premier League strugglers Sunderland.

But, fresh from scoring his first goal for the club, the striker reckons it feels a lot longer than that.

Graham impressed Rovers boss Paul Lambert and his new team-mates with unstinting performances in the draws at Charlton Athletic and Middlesbrough.

And on Tuesday he was afforded a standing ovation from the Ewood Park faithful after he rounded off the scoring in the 3-0 win over Fulham to cap an outstanding home debut.

It was the first time Graham had been on the scoresheet since May when he notched the only goal of his Sunderland career in a vital 2-0 victory at Everton.

That will also be the final time he finds the net for the Black Cats as he will not be renewing his contract when it expires in the summer.

But Graham, the Championship’s top-scorer in the 2010-11, is hoping his late strike against Fulham will be the first of many for Rovers.

“Since the moment I’ve walked through the door the staff and the players have been superb with me,” said the ex-Watford and Swansea City hitman, who was often played out of position by Sunderland.

“It does feel like I’ve been here longer than three weeks or so. That’s a good thing and hopefully we’ll do well together.

“I feel as though I’m playing well. Everyone knows it was a tough time for me at Sunderland but I’ll never hide from that. I think it’ll make me a stronger person going forward.

“It’s nice to be back up front, it’s nice to be getting a run of games and obviously it was nice to get the goal as well and hopefully I can kick on from there.

“I’ve been in situations like this before when I haven’t scored for a while but maybe not as bad as this one.

“But I’m tougher mentally now than what I was a few years ago. I don’t let anything faze me. I just go out there and I’m confident if I get a chance I will score.

“100 per cent (I would be interested in staying). My Sunderland contract is up in the summer and that won’t be getting renewed.

“Hopefully it all goes well and we can sort something out in the summer.”

Graham will not be able to play in Sunday’s FA Cup clash against West Ham United after featuring for the Black Cats in their third-round loss at holders Arsenal.

But, ahead of the trip to Derby County on Wednesday, the extra time will allow the 30-year-old to rest the hamstring injury which left him unable to train in the lead up to the Fulham match.

“Of course, after getting your first goal, you want to play in the next game, but that’s part and parcel of football,” said Graham.

“I’m not allowed to play in the FA Cup so I’ve got eight days to recover and get ready for the Derby game.”
