PAUL Lambert is hopeful Tom Lawrence’s injury is no more than a knock.

The on-loan Leicester City striker came off in the first half in Blackburn Rovers’ 2-1 win at Preston North End on Saturday.

And new Rovers boss Lambert said afterwards: “I’m not so sure whether it’s a kick or a bit of tiredness.

“That could have been due to training but I know that’s going to happen. If we don’t train at intensity then we won’t get up to speed.

“These little things will happen or might occur but sometimes you need to make a sacrifice. You might get a knock or strain, but hopefully Tom Lawrence has just got a knock.”
