IF Accrington Stanley make it four wins on the spin with victory against Yeovil tonight it would mark their best start to a Football League season since 1956/57.

Added to that, if results go their way, they could also find themselves top of League Two come 10pm.

John Coleman is aware of all this, and it will go into the mix when preparing his players.

But at the forefront of the manager’s messages will be to keep up the good work, maintain focus and guard against complacency.

“We’ve said to the players that whatever opportunity you get to pick up points you should be grasping it and embracing it,” said the Reds boss.

“We should be wanting to play a game every day, when you’re in this vein of form. Things quickly change in this game, and you’ve only got to look at Crawley for that. They kept three clean sheets on the bounce earlier in the season and then they conceded 12 in four games.

“You know that you can’t get carried away with yourselves and we certainly are very grounded. We know the players need to work hard, the players know they need to work hard. The harder we work the better chance we’ve got of success.

“But we just have to take every game as it comes. I know that sounds like a cliché but that’s what we have to do.

“Every time we’ve got a chance to pick up points it’s got to be like a life and death situation and the players have got to understand that. You don’t get these times back again.

“This season I think is a chance for this set of players to do something really unique and that is to be successful with Accrington Stanley in the Football League, which we haven’t done before.

“The summit of our success has been making the play-offs three or four years ago. I want more than that. I want to win things and the players should want to win things.

“We’re going into a game tomorrow that we’re expected to win, and probably Accrington haven’t been in this situation for a couple of years, so we’ll see how they handle it,” said Coleman.
