JELLE Vossen has told Burnley fans that they will start to see the best of him once he has settled in.

The striker is undergoing a period of adjustment since moving to Turf Moor.

But the Belgian believes he is getting used to the Burnley way of life, and feels that will soon start to show in his game because the team’s ambition matches his own.

“I can’t wait to get going in the next couple of months,” he said.

“I think when making a permanent move, the first thing you have to look at is the ambition of the team and the club,” he said.

“It’s certainly very good here in that respect and it’s the same ambition that Middlesbrough had last season so that was important.

“My personal life as well was something I had to consider and I’m living in Manchester now which has good transport links to get some family over.

“I had a good feeling in every aspect of the transfer so that’s why I decided to make the choice of Burnley over some other clubs.”

Vossen has been an ever present in the Championship for Burnley so far, after making his official debut at Leeds United on the opening day.

“It was really nice to make my debut at Leeds,” he said.

“I think it was a good result to go there on the opening day and we can build on that.

“I came close to opening my account at Elland Road.

“It’s always a difficult place to go, with a great atmosphere from both the home and away supporters so it was ideal.”
