Losing Jordan Rhodes and Rudy Gestede will be a huge blow. We have got two of the most potent strikers in the Championship and both guarantee you goals.

We do need to sell, but should we lose both players, we will also need to buy as Chris Brown isn't known for his goalscoring prowess and Josh King, were he to renew his contract, can't be relied on with his injuries.

I expect we will sell one of the pair and I believe that Rudy has more natural attributes that will appeal to Premiership clubs.

I would certainly hold out for an inflated fee as his value to Rovers is also high were he to stay.

Should we keep Jordan then we need to invest in a midfield that will play to his strengths, provide him with opportunities and share the goalscoring burden.

I think the matter will be taken out of Rovers' control in that both players are clearly dissatisfied with the way they have been used at the club this season.

With 39 goals between them, each has spent considerable time on the bench and to me that can't be justified.

I would prefer them both to stay despite the embargo and hope that someone at the club can develop them into a formidable partnership rather than talented individuals.

What's for sure is there will be no shortage of takers and a few agents rubbing their hands.

There appears to be little in the way of compatibility between Jordan Rhodes and Rudy Gestede and if tactics are geared towards one, the other is anonymous.

It's easy to see why Gary Bowyer has chosen to rotate them accordingly, if not always successfully.

Forces beyond his control may lead the manager to lose both. And as much as Gestede is currently in favour with the fans I fear he is destined for the exit.

Rovers have scouted some cheap, fringe players which Bowyer has cajoled into multi-million pound assets. With the FFP hampering progress, they must repeat the pattern.
