DAVID Lloyd has hailed record-breaker James Anderson - describing his achievements as a ‘massive boost’ for the Lancashire League.
Burnley-born Anderson surpassed Sir Ian Botham as England’s all-time leading Test wicket taker when he claimed his 384th victim in Antigua in the First Test against the West Indies on Friday night.

Anderson started his career as a youngster with Burnley in the Lancashire League.
“It’s a brilliant achievement from Jim to beat Beefy’s record,” said former Lancashire and England star Lloyd, who also in the Lancashire League for Accrington.
“I think he’s been fabulous, coming from Burnley at 17 years of age.
“Congratulations to him, and to his family, and everybody at Burnley. They’ve all played a part.
“It’s a massive boost for Lancashire League cricket.
“He came into the Lancashire League and very quickly went to Lancashire.
“It’s no surprise he’s got 384 wickets.”
