CELTIC today completed the signing of Cameroon midfielder Landry N'Guemo.

The loan deal will see the 23 year-old follow become Tony Mowbray's second signing of the summer, following his former Nancy team-mate Marc-Antoine Fortune to Parkhead.

N'Guemo held lengthy discussions with Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell and manager Mowbray before completing a medical and finally committing to the deal.

There had been interest in N'Guemo from clubs in the English Premier League. But, the player has decided that his career can best be progressed by a move to Parkhead where he is expected to be used in a holding midfield position.

The transfer could become permanent if both the player and Celtic agree after the initial one-year loan.

Nancy are looking for around £1.5million for the international who has been with them since he arrived from Cameroon as a teenager.

N'Guemo will report immediately for pre-season training and will be included in the squad which heads to Cardiff and Wembley next week.

N'Guemo said: "This is a fantastic honour to sign for a club of Celtic's stature with its wonderful history and magnificent supporters.

"I'm looking forward to playing for this great club over the next year and hopefully extending my stay at Celtic beyond that."

N'Guemo will be officially unveiled as a Celtic player tomorrow at the Lennoxtown Training Centre.
