By WENDY MILLER THOUSANDS of Kylie fans descended on Kelvingrove for the final day of the superstar's exhibition in the city.

With one of the biggest crowds since the art gallery and museum reopened last year, many visitors were forced to wait 45 minutes to get in the door.

The four-month exhibition had been expected to attract 165,000 visitors but a last-minute rush in the final few days means that total is expected to be easily beaten.

The superstar's exhibition said farewell to Glasgow yesterday on the final day of the spectacular display of 45 of Kylie's most famous costumes, including her sexy gold hotpants.

One man, who made the exhibition with just hours to spare, said: "I knew the show had been popular, but I didn't expect huge queues on the last day.

"But it's an excellent exhibition and Glasgow should be congratulated on its foresight to bring it to the city."

Andy Cudden, head of day-to-day operations at Kelvingrove, said: "Families have been coming and the children have been singing and dancing in front of the video screens.

"It's been one of the most popular exhibitions we've ever had at Kelvingrove."
