A BRITISH obesity charity has commended Cumbernauld food firm Snapz Crisps for offering people an effective way to fight their junk food addiction.
The Obesity Awareness and Solutions Trust applauded the firm, run by Finlay Lockie, left, and Bahram Ajodani, for providing a workable alternative to fatty snacks.
Charity director Louise Diss said: "It is now recognised that obesity is a serious and complex illness requiring psychological and physiological input.
"It is important that each individual is able to deal with their condition in their own way and changing snacking habits can be part of this process."
Snapz are the brainchild of Bahram, who persuaded his own children to ditch potato crisps in favour of dried fruit.
