KILMARNOCK star Gordon Greer used to play in the same team as Andy Millen during their Clyde days.

And he is looking forward to facing the man he credits with helping him set out on the road to becoming a full-time footballer.

Greer quit Clyde to join Graeme Souness at Blackburn Rovers in a £500,000 deal before returning to Scotland to play for Killie.

And he says St Mirren assistant manager Millen was a massive help to him.

He said: "I joined Clyde from the juniors and Andy helped me a great deal there.

"He had so much enthusiasm for the game, so it comes as no surprise to me that he is still going strong.

"Also, I think he is still doing a good job as a player at St Mirren and it will be nice to meet up with him again tomorrow. But I'm obviously hoping for a Killie victory at Love Street."
