WE have done incredibly well to overcome two top-flight teams already – which is more than our Premier League neighbours in 2015 – and the challenge just gets greater with a trip to Anfield.

It will be a tough task to get a positive result against Liverpool but we are have nothing to lose and we shouldn’t let the occasion get the better of us as many of the squad have Premier League experience.

Come what may, it will be a great occasion and an opportunity to test our resolve against some truly quality opposition.

GARY Bowyer against ‘The Brodge’ or is it David against Goliath?
Whatever, I’m afraid Goliath is going to come out on top.

How you plan tactically for a game like this must be a nightmare. Whichever approach you take

Liverpool have the pace and skill to punish a side like Rovers almost at will.

All we can ask is for the players to give 100 per cent and survive the ensuing embarrassment.

A draw would be a magnificent achievement but I’m not sure I will have the courage and stamina to watch Team David being thrown to the lions.

LIVERPOOL’S victory over Manchester City last weekend could have unexpected benefits for Rovers.

Given the recent league travails, Rovers are already dismissed as whipping boys in the tie and the resurgent media love-in for Liverpool leaves it an apparent forgone conclusion.

If Rovers can frustrate their opponents and catch them on the break then, in a one-off season-defining game, a shock is possible.

A replay may bring some revenue but I think the first chance is the only chance for Rovers.
