CHELSEA captain John Terry believes the competition for places at the back for the Blues is good for the club.

Jose Mourinho has an embarrassment of riches, with Petr Cech and Thibaut Courtois battling it for a starting spot in goal, while Terry has partnered England regular Gary Cahill and French youngster Kurt Zouma at the heart of defence in recent weeks.

Cech started Chelsea’s last league game, while Courtois was back in the side, and in fine form, in the 1-1 draw with Paris St-Germain in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Either could start when Burnley travel to Stamford Bridge tomorrow, while Terry also knows he could be set for a rest at some point.

“Kurt’s done really well; when he plays he’s been great and when Gaz plays he’s been great,” said Terry.

“We will rotate and there are enough games to share around. Obviously we all want to play every game, those two are fighting it out at the moment but it could be me at any time. What’s important is that we remain top of the league and everybody gets game time.

“The manager stresses the importance of the team coming first. Pete’s done that, Thibaut’s done that and they’re both there for the whole squad.

“We’ve got the two best goalkeepers in the world in my opinion and they’re fighting for one place. Obviously they want to play all the time, the two of them are at the top of their game so rotating them at certain times is a tough job.”

Terry also praised midweek goalscorer Branislav Ivanovic, who also netted at Turf Moor in Chelsea’s 3-1 win on the opening weekend of the season.

“He poses a real threat, he’s aggressive, he wants to score and he’s hungry,” Terry said.

“Defensively he’s been brilliant this season as well, he’s a real top player for the team.”
