CLARETS boss Sean Dyche hasn’t given up hope of adding to his squad before the transfer window closes on Monday.

Michael Keane remains the only signing for Dyche in this transfer window so far, and that was a deal put in place when the 22-year-old joined on loan on September 1.

Despite seeing a bid for Dundee United midfielder Stuart Armstrong rejected, Dyche is still confident of adding to the Turf Moor ranks before the window closes at 11pm on Monday.

The Clarets chief said Armstrong would have been more a signing for the future, but bids have gone in for players likely to figure in the first-team in the final few months of the Premier League season, but so far without success.

"We've had offers in for more recognised players that haven't got over the line at the moment, but we'll see where that takes us,” said Dyche.

It has been a quiet January so far on the transfer front, but the Burnley boss thinks it could take just one deal to spark a chain reaction.

But he is well aware of the financial constraints he was to work in at Turf Moor.

"If you're a club that can constantly throw money at things, it usually gets to happen,” he said, "There is a limit to certain players and how much we can pay for them. We're trying to be realistic within that. We're not going for players who are way out of our league and hoping for the best.

"I've been through it a few times now. It's been quite quiet really, certainly in the middle market. Sometimes it takes one to knock another situation on so we'll see how it develops over the next few days.

"There's no guarantees to it. We've been confident before. We were confident during the summer on certain things, even to the point of being told that it was definitely going to happen and then things change.”

The Clarets were linked with West Brom’s Graham Dorrans earlier in the transfer window, but it is understood the Baggies were reluctant to do a deal, while interest in Moroccan winger Nabil Bahoui, currently plying his trade for AIK Stockholm, is unlikely to come to anything.

Meanwhile Dyche hasn’t given up hope of tying Danny Ings to a new contract, despite the England Under-21 striker not being in talks over a deal at the moment.

“Danny’s made it clear he’s going to be here until the end of the season,” said the Burnley boss.

“After that, who knows? Watch this space.”
