HURST Green boss Graeme Seedall suffered the curse of the manager of the month award.

Seedall picked up the November prize after guiding Hurst Green to the summit of Division One — but a shock 6-0 defeat at title rivals Poulton brought the Ribble Valley lads crashing back down to earth.

Carl Eastwood and Max Landless led the charge with two goals each, while Steve Ralston and Jason Dean piled on the agony further as off colour Hurst Green surrendered top spot.

In the top flight, Aaron Halliwell’s late strike rescued a precious point for Longridge United at Fleetwood Hesketh, who had forged ahead minutes earlier.

Burnley United also picked up a point on the road, with Danny Coates and Joe Rodrigues on the mark in a hard-fought 2-2 draw at Vickerstown, easing themselves out of the bottom four.

Back in Division One, Wayne Morrison helped himself to a hat-trick as Mill Hill St Peters overwhelmed Lytham Town 4-2 to record a welcome and impressive victory.

Haslingden St Mary’s had Jonathan Hulme and Jonathan Booth to thank as the prolific pair found the net in a 2-1 victory over Cumbrian opponents Millom in Division Two.

It proved a double celebration for St Mary’s, who also made it into the hat for the second round of the West Lancashire Football League Houston Cup after edging past Poulton Reserves.

Golden boot Michael Robinson scored twice, while Craig Watts and Anthony Taylor were also in the scoring grove for the second string.
