BURNLEY boss Sean Dyche admitted that back to back victories in the Premier League were ‘massive’ for his side after they won 2-1 at Stoke City this afternoon.

The Clarets followed up their triumph over Hull City a fortnight ago with victory at the Britannia Stadium thanks to an early brace from Danny Ings.

Burnley had to defend resiliently after Jonathan Walters pulled a goal back but Stoke were unable to find an equaliser.

"Everyone tells me that back to back wins in the Premier League are massive, and I’ll go with that, we'll take them gladly,” Dyche said.

“It was a different way of winning, that’s an important factor.

“Not for one minute did we think we were going to roll around the Premier League slipping the ball around for 95 minutes.

“I thought we were very good for the first 15, with two very good high quality goals on the counter.

“They came at us wave after wave, but the framework of the team was very good.

“I don’t think Tom (Heaton) had many big saves to make.”

Speaking about goalscorer Ings, who took his tally for the season to three after recently returning from a hamstring injury, the Clarets manager said: “He started the season and there was a lot of expectation, it’s very hard for young players going into your first Premier League season.

“I said I thought his injury would do him good in a strange sort of way and he’s looking nice and sharp.”
