I’m all for anything that make me feel younger (I’m 46 you know is my catch phrase) so the latest craze to hit East Lancashire is making me feel pretty happy indeed.

So while I am thrilled to see Walking Football coming to East Lancashire, I am over the moon because I am still too young to play it!

It is a great initiative – and many of you have probably seen it being used in a national telly advert.

Alot of county FA’s have been running them across the country aimed at the over 50s.

Dave Burgess and Stuart Thompson will be holding their own Walking Football at Roefield Leisure Centre in Clitheroe for a trial six-week period. It starts on Wednesday, October 29 (9-10pm) and will run each week after that.

It sounds like a lot of fun – and a good way to keep fit.

It’s probably not as easy as it seems.

You probably think what is simpler than walking well when a ball is rolling by, the first thing you want to do is chase after it.

So those veterans out there, head over to Roefield and give it a go I really do hope if takes off and becomes more of a permanent thing.

After all, if four years time I will be able to give it a go – when I am old enough.
