DOUGIE Lampkin and the Red Bull City Trial will return to Manchester for the third year in succession on Saturday.

This year’s City Trial will use a specially designed new head-to-head dual-lane course on Deansgate – the biggest and most famous shopping street in Manchester.

Throughout the day, there will be four individual rounds which determine the eventual champion of the 2014 Red Bull City Trial.

Lampkin, a 12 times FIM Trial World Champion and one of the longest serving Red Bull Athletes, is looking to build on the third place he achieved in the 2013 event.

“It’s simply amazing to have Red Bull City Trial coming back to Manchester for a third year in a row,” said Lampkin. “The event belongs in this great city, and what is unbelievable is that the actual location gets better each year.

“The new head-to-head format worked really well last year, it created some really close battles, plenty of drama, some good crashes and went down a storm with the audience who were not previously familiar with our sport.

“This year’s initial entry list looks stronger than ever so I am going to have my work cut out, but already I am looking forward to the event and to riding a course that is new from the ground up and that promises to separate the men from the boys.”

Entry to the 2014 Red Bull City Trial is free.
