BLACKBURN Rovers boss Gary Bowyer faces a midfield selection headache for tomorrow’s Ewood Park encounter with Watford.

Tom Cairney and Lee Williamson sustained injuries after being fouled out of last weekend’s win at Fulham.

But the duo should both be fit for the clash with the Hornets after they returned to training yesterday.

With their replacements at Craven Cottage, Craig Conway and Chris Taylor, impressing off the bench, and Ryan Tunnicliffe available again after he was ineligible to face parent club Fulham, Bowyer has something of an embarrassment of riches despite being without Jason Lowe (foot) and David Dunn (knee).

“We’ve had good news that both Lee Williamson and Tom Cairney have trained,” said Bowyer, who will also be without Paul Robinson, Chris Brown and Tommy Spurr, who edged closer to a first-team return by joining in training yesterday.

“We’ve got a tough decision to make in terms of who plays.

“But it’s a nice decision to have.”

Tunnicliffe, a deadline day arrival from Fulham, is pushing for his full debut after producing an encouraging cameo off the bench in last Wednesday’s 3-2 home loss to Derby County.

Bowyer said: “He helped turned the game in our favour against Derby and for him to miss the Fulham game was disappointing for us and disappointing for the lad.

“He’s showed glimpses to the Ewood public of what he’s capable of and we’re looking forward to the progress he will make with us this season.”

Watford will be without captain and star striker Troy Deeney, former Rovers midfielder Keith Andrews and defender Gabriel Tamas.

But Gabriele Angella, who could replace Tamas, is fit.
