Jordan Rhodes

First published in Sport

HITMEN Danny Ings and Jordan Rhodes will go head to head for one of the big prizes at the 2014 Northwest Football Awards.

Blackburn Rovers striker Rhodes and Burnley forward Ings have been nominated for the Championship player of the year award.

Rhodes notched 25 goals in 46 appearances as Rovers came within two points off the play-offs in 2013-14.

Ings, meanwhile, netted 21 times in 40 league games as the Clarets claimed promotion to the Premier League.

Rivaling the prolific frontmen for the prize will be Blackpool’s David Perkins, Bolton Wanderers’ Tim Ream and Wigan Athletic’s James McArthur.

Rovers’ reigning player of the year Tom Cairney has been nominated for the rising star award alongside Everton’s England international Ross Barkley.

Burnley’s Steven Hewitt has also been nominated in the category, along with Altrincham’s Scott Leather, Blackpool’s Tom Barkhuizen, Bolton’s Andy Kellett, Bury’s Anthony Dudley, Carlisle United’s Patrick Brough, Crewe Alexandra’s Ben Garratt, Hyde’s Adam Blakeman, Liverpool’s Jordan Rossiter, Manchester City’s Marco Lopes, Manchester United’s James Wilson, Morecambe’s Aaron McGowan, Oldham Athletic’s Jonson Clarke-Harris, Preston North End’s Josh Brownhill, Rochdale’s Jamie Allen, Tranmere Rovers’ Max Power, and Wigan Athletic’s Martyn Waghorn.

Both the Championship player of the year and rising star awards are voted by supporters.

To cast your vote visit www.northwestfootballawards.com before the deadline closes at 3pm on Friday, October 24.

The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on Tuesday, November 18.

Do you dingles struggle with reading?
The facts and figures are in the story.
If you're as thick with Maths Rhodes scored a goal every 1.84 games, Ings 1 every 1.9. For those hard of understanding that means Rhodes had a slightly better goals per game rate.
Bet you don't struggle working out your benefits do you!

Only idiots believe everything they read. Last season Rhodes played 48 games for Rovers and scored 25 goals. Ings played 45 games and scored 26 goals. I will let you use your new calculator to work out the goals per game played.

No he is on approximately 40k a week as he was on 34k a week before his contract extension and that was from someone who did all the paperwork on the deal. Still a lot of money whichever way you look at it, even Dunn is on 34k a week and that is fact, as he and Samba back in the good old days were the clubs 2 top earners. Still financial ruin beckons and with a manager like Gary'Kean'Bowyer in your ranks who needs anything else.
