BLACKBURN with Darwen’s Under 11s are celebrating after beating Wyre to lift the Harry Flew Trophy.

The youngsters, who are coached by East Lancashire’s Luke Pomfret, were in the pink after seeing off their coastal rivals.

Blackburn with Darwen had beaten both Burnley and Hyndburn nd skipper Harry Caton, who had made two half-centuries in earlier rounds, shone again by making 36 not out.

The efforts from the Feniscowles CC youngster proved pivotal, as did 50 from Harry Singh, the son of former Indian Test man Rudra Singh.

Then Tom Kilshaw claimed 5-14 as Blackburn with Darwen, who included five Year 5 students in what is really a Year 6 team, claimed the prize.
