NELSON (Under 13) celebrated their first victory of the season with a sparkling eight-wicket win over Darwen.
Darwen found it hard to keep the scoreboard moving against a well drilled bowling attack, with James Bradley (3-10) and Matt Pettinger (2-10) doing the damage as they slumped to 82 all out.
Skipper Sam Johnson led the way for Nelson with 33 not out, and sharing a solid second wicket stand of 60 with Matt Pettinger (29).
Tim Barnes also made ten out as Nelson made it home with plenty to spare.
The Under-13 A squad experienced mixed fortunes, losing to Church and beating Nelson. Church smashed 264-5, with Zak Smith (2-10), and Tom Garner (1-4).
However, in reply, Nelson could only reach 240-4 with Tom Garner 15 not out as Church clinched victory by 24 runs.
It was a different story against Rawtwenstall, though, as Nelson posted a hard fought 23 run win.
Nelson made 264-1 then restricted Rawtenstall to 241-5 with Mason Eardley, Oliver Dinning, Tommy Davis and Zak Smith all taking wickets.
The U9 squad defeated East Lancs by 65 runs. Nelson 295-4 (Tom Garner 20*, Zakiari Naeem 19*, Oliver Dinning 19, Tommy Davis 15.
