A last minute Josh Brownhill free kick condemned Burnley to defeat in pre-season action at Deepdale.

Lukas Jutkiewicz put the Clarets ahead with his third goal in three games and the striker again impressed as he led the line alongside Danny Ings.

The former Middlesbrough man calmly opened the scoring in the 15th minute after David Jones had robbed Bailey Wright.

But Preston were level thanks to Alan Browne's deflected effort on 52 minutes and just when it looked like fizzling out into a draw Brownhill fired home a 25-yard free kick in the final minute to win it for the home side.

Burnley went into the game without a number of players through injury. Tom Heaton, Michael Kightly and Steven Reid are yet to feature in pre-season.
