BLACKBURN Rovers have signed versatile defender Alex Baptiste on a season-long loan from Championship rivals Bolton Wanderers – and tied left-back Markus Olsson down to a new contract.
Sweden international Olsson, 26, has put pen to paper on a one-year deal with Rovers and is the second player, after midfielder David Dunn, to commit his future to the club today.
Baptiste, meanwhile, will spend the whole of the 2014-15 campaign at Ewood Park after sealing a loan switch from the Whites.
The 28-year-old, who made 190 appearances for Blackpool before moving to Bolton on a free transfer last summer, can play anywhere across the back four.
Baptiste scored the Whites’ consolation goal in their 4-1 drubbing at Rovers last August.
