David Dunn signs new Blackburn Rovers contract

Lancashire Telegraph: David Dunn has signed a new deal with Rovers David Dunn has signed a new deal with Rovers

DAVID Dunn has signed a new one-year contract at Blackburn Rovers.

The 34-year-old was out of contract this summer but had been in negotiations for some time and has now penned a deal ahead of Rovers' opening pre-season match at AFC Telford United tomorrow.

"I'm delighted that he's been able to continue his association with the club," said Rovers boss Gary Bowyer.

"I think it is a rare commodity in football nowadays that a player starts at the academy and has a long career at the club.

"His experience will be invaluable this season on and off the pitch, he is Mr Blackburn Rovers."

True but he was not playing when they went in front so had no influence. If he had been still playing then history dictates he would have at least equalised before full time.
I expected a Dingle to get hooked, not a Rovers fan.

David Dunn was in the team that was BEATEN by Burnley at Ewood Park on the 9th or March 2014.

Fat Dunn couldn't save your tears this time could he? Dunn had to be dragged off because he was making an embarrassment of himself being show up time and again by Burnley's superb midfield pairing. Poor chunky just couldn't stand the pace.

David Dunn 1 - 2 Burnley. http://www.bbc.co.uk /sport/0/football/26 404281 Super CIaret

You were so relieved when he went off as it was the only time you were likely to win. And so it proved, but one swallow does not a summer make. We will start again from scratch and it will again be years before you beat us again.

Wait for the Dingle comments. Pieman etc. But bet they are glad he's not playing against them this season as they have never won whilst he is playing against them. If we meet them in the cups then watch out Burnley. Revenge will be sweet.
well I am a Rovers fan pal, and I'm pretty sure Dunn played in the game at Ewood in which Burnley won 2-1. Granted he was substituted but still played..............

........
Subbed when they were winning 1-0
I love David Dunn

Poor old dunny, he always said he'd never be on the losing side to Burnley, and there he was sobbing on the touchline as the final whistle went on the 9th of March.

David Dunn 1 - 2 Burnley.

Where's that? Conference?

"On the touch line!" Those are the operative words. Never actually been beaten by Burnley, he was not playing at the final whistle.
He plays for Blackburn, Burnley beat Blackburn, yes he has, by the way, did you know the fat lads dad is a massive Burnley fan? Funny that, why in Rishton is there so many Burnley fans, I mean it's only a couple of miles away from Blackburn, doesn't say much for Blackburn really

So if his dad is a massive Burnley fan why did he encourage him to sign for Blackburn Rovers and not Burnley? Because he knew he would get nowhere with Burnley.
