Lancashire Disabled beat an England LD Development side by nine wickets at South West Manchester CC.

Lancashire won the toss and decided to field on a sunny afternoon in Chorlton, Manchester.

Openers Callum Savage (0-6) and Zak Green (3-12) bowled tight lines resulting in England 3 wickets down on 14 runs, all to Zak who bowled with good pace and accuracy.

Next wicket to go was a run out due to good fielding from Callum Flynn. Waqas Khan was then brought into the attack bowling his spin and was soon into the batsmen returning figures of (3-17).

The final wicket in the innings fell to Callum Flynn a great catch on the boundary by Andy Bar to leave England LD Development 137 for 8 from their 40 overs.

Only Shropshire’s Callum Rigby (63) and Jack Perry (27) put up any real resistance.

Lancashire’s openers soon got into the England PD Development bowlers putting on 111 for the only wicket to fall that being Tom Wilson (53) who scored his maiden fifty for the county and partner Adam Finneran (50no).

Adam was joined at the crease by Callum Flynn who soon knocked off the remaining runs to finish on 12no.

The squad would like to thank South West Manchester CC for hosting the game and their hospitality.

Alan Foster, coach/manager for Lancashire Disabled, said: “This was a much improved bowling and fielding performance from the lads after our defeat to Yorkshire last week.

Overall a good performance from the lads who played with discipline and stuck to the game plan.”
