ALAN Threlfall turned back the clock to win the Ribblesdale Cup – 34 years after winning it for the first time!
Threlfall brighted up the long-running competition which was played in brilliant sunshine at Ribblesdale Wanderers Cricket and Bowling Club on Sunday.
The Ribblesdale Wanderers Bowling Club Subscription Cup was first played for in 1914 and carries a great number of Ribblesdale bowlers names.
Threlfall’s name last appeared on the trophy in 1980 but he made sure he got his name engraved on it once again after running out a 21-9 winner against Jack Holt.
Results - Quarter final: P Holt 15-21 A Threlfall, G Dixon 20-21 D Niven, B Hinks 5-21 J.Holt, S Greenwood 21-17 A Dewhurst.
Semi final: A.Threlfall 21-12 D Niven, J Holt 21-10 S Greenwood Final: A Threlfall 21-9 J Holt.
