Stonyhurst College hosted a ‘Future Stars’ Hockey Masterclass with Kwan Browne recently.
Kwan, who has 250 Trinidad caps, has just been awarded England Hockey ‘Performance Coach of the year’.
He has been working with Sky Sports at the Hockey World Cup as part of the commentary team.
The masterclass was run in conjunction with Springfields Hockey Club in north Preston. More than 30 promising hockey players from Springfields Hockey Club and Stonyhurst College took part – all have represented Lancashire, or the North, this year.
The masterclass was sponsored by KABO, a new hockey brand set up by local businessman and hockey player Matt Banks.
Matt said: “This was a fantastic opportunity to have a world class coach and player pass on his knowledge and skills to some of Lancashire’s most promising players.”
Emma Kay, Head of Girls’ Games at Stonyhurst said: “The Stonyhurst girls really enjoyed the day with Kwan and benefited enormously from his inspirational coaching!”
