Rodriguez: I'll be fit for return to action at the Turf

FORMER Burnley star Jay Rodriguez admits the prospect of making his recovery from injury in time for a Turf Moor reunion is spurring him on in his battle to return to full fitness.

Southampton striker Rodriguez, who left the Clarets for the south coast two years ago, is currently sidelined after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament against Manchester City earlier this year.

The injury caused Rodriguez to miss this summer’s World Cup in Brazil and as yet no comeback date for the Burnley-born ace has been set.

But the 24-year-old is targeting the Turf Moor fixture on December 13 as one game he really wants to play in.

The Clarets are back in the Premier League for the first time in four years and Rodriguez is desperate to face his old club.

He said: “I want to be able to be fit to play in that and go back to Burnley. That is certainly my aim.

“I haven’t got a specific comeback date from injury and it is just about working through the phases at the moment. I think there are six phases to the recovery and when we get to stage six we can start looking at putting a timescale on it.

“But seeing the Burnley fixture in December definitely helps with motivation and I really want to play a part.

“It will be great to go back and see all the fans and be able to play at Turf Moor again and see some of the players and people at the club.

“The Burnley game was the first fixture I looked out for.

“I am starting to see some positives with me knee and I am feeling good about the recovery. Hopefully it will go to plan.”

Rodriguez’s Southampton side saw manager Mauricio Pochettino depart for Southampton at the end of the season with former Holland international Ronald Koeman named as his successor.

And Rodriguez is looking forward to working with a man who won 78 international caps and played for Barcelona and Ajax during a stellar career.

I met Ronald Koeman very briefly,” added Rodriguez who was in the Southampton gym when Koeman came through as part of his tour of the training ground after being named boss.

“He is obviously a legend in the game and played at the very highest level. I am excited about working with him. He asked me how the injury was and how I was getting on. It was only a very brief chat but it was nice to be able to meet him.

“I can’t wait to get back training again and working with him and hopefully it will be a good move for Southampton to bring him in.”

To be fair 41 goals in 128 games is not anything special during his dingle days, so don't be too worried.

However he will probably claim his first premiership hat trick during this game.

I know it may make you feel like you are back in the Premier League (You know, the place where those lost 15000 Blackburn fans are), just by associating yourselves with us, but you are becoming **** embarrassing now - you need to attempt to forge a rivalry with The Lashers or maybe Wigan, as we really can't be bothered with you Second Division clubs - except of course to laugh at your demise.

Actually the Burnley side that won the Championship cost NOT A SINGLE PENNY. In fact the first player we bought that cost any money for 15 years was Frank Casper in 1968.

It is honestly too easy to disprove your Burnley supporting credentials, It's like shooting extremely large fish in a small barrel.

Utterly beyond belief. Dear God, there's simply no ambition in Burnley. It wasn't beyond belief for Bradford, Oldham, Swindon, Shef Utd, Barnsley etc - just look where they are now and what heights they've scaled. Have some belief - you could be as good as any of these clubs tomorrow. Not sure anyone calls them 'Premier League' mind.

Where did the money come from? That's the point I'm making. It came from turnover. You guys had a cash injection, as gift. It was not subordinate to the value of any asset so not subject to a return ruling. When you have success through that route you've purchased it. Using our method you earn it ergo it was out of earnings.

Bless you Tom - it's hit you hard hasn't it, because you tried to fool everyone into thinking you were a Burnley fan in your early posts, you were quickly exposed as the slavering no-dad that you really are, and now you post as the Blackburn scrubber that you really are.

However, he was trying to spare your ultra-sensitive ring-piece from the huge pap that comes out every time you consider the achievement.[/p]
Not sure anyone calls them 'Premier League' mind.[/p]
You could add Blackburn to that list of crappy clubs that you have mentioned - clubs that once graced the top table, but now are content to feed from the scraps that we deign to give you, because they all know one thing, that they will NEVER ever get promoted back there again. Bless you Tom - it's hit you hard hasn't it, because you tried to fool everyone into thinking you were a Burnley fan in your early posts, you were quickly exposed as the slavering no-dad that you really are, and now you post as the Blackburn scrubber that you really are. How about you get your other alter-ego AnotherPounding to do the same - even the Blackburn fans are giving you thumbs down for the sheer cringeworthness. Blackburn, embarrassing football since 1875. It's laughable that anyone with an interest in Blackburn would even have an opinion on this. It's just a vehicle for them to express their twisted little personality in an anonymous rant. If you look at the timing of the posts, bearing in mknd lots are from the same saddo, and have kids, it might be a good time to plan any outside activities when the trolls are on here getting their fix - safer streets I imagine. No doubt the aim here is not to comment at all, but spew sickness and share their pain - goodness me what a load of half wits are associating themsleves with Blackburn Rovers this year.

I'm a Burnley fan, just can't understand why we attack other clubs who's directors / owners want to invest whilst ours trouser the proceeds. Whilst we the thick feckers that we are, tell everyone how well run we are.. I'd sooner have someone on board who wanted to invest instead of behave like a dyson.

Another retarded mind finds an outlet for what it thinks is a coherent statement. This buffoon has 'inside information' on the inner workings of the BFC board. He was recently head hunted, has contacts who are football agents. Know the intentions of both Ings and Dyche and yet - yet this retarded fool cannot string together a sentence that makes sense despite having at least 30-40 attempts each day from his multiple IDs.

Stand this shrivelled up scrotum of an excuse for life face to face with Ings, Dyche - anyone - a random member of staff at Asda. And it would be immediately and deafeningly obvious what a limited amount of DNA it takes to produce a fool. His club - Blackburn Rovers - his obsession - BFC. A dwarf in a childrens playground this repellent mentally unstable retarded excuse for a male would stand in front of Jay, his lip would drip spittle, his relaxed colon would empty the contents of his bowels down his shiny nylon pants and he would turn and he would run. Blackburn - safe haven for trolls of such stupidity their own fans cringe.

Why ask him anything? He cottoned on to the potential for lying a long time ago and uses it as much as he can. Naturally, he couldn't do that in real life or he'd spend most of it in A&E being stitched up.

All you can know with any degree of certainty with him are his numerous names, his very poor grammar, his repeated name changes (each one a tacit admission of yet another failure), his staggering level of deep ignorance, the actual time of his posting and the frequency of them, his overriding stupidity, his insane belief that he is upsetting people with his 'predictions' (stit-shirring ), the clear fact he is unemployed and almost certainly unemployable and that he was suffers a massive inferiority complex he tries to project onto Burnley fans as he was bested by one or more at some time in his past.

As you should never trust a liar about anything, there's less than no point asking him about anything.

PS, I've had a look on the Blackburn pages and even their fans aren't giving him the time of day. He's getting thumbed down to bits over there!

An admirable tirade and outpouring of sheer frustration there though somewhat futile and again continues to ignore the subject which is Bumley FC and the sheer inability to attract anyone of any note to the club which forces the LT to print such non entity articles. The fact that you're still reading and commenting leads me to believe pundits such as AP4B and my good self provide a worthwhile contribution. Thanks.

Burnley are £120million richer.

Incredible.

Blackburn Rovers..... about to be penetrated by FFP in the most brutal and publicly embarrassing fashion imaginable. LOL
So Burnley did buy their way to promotion? They spent £400k so they bought something! Correct
Where did the money come from? That's the point I'm making. It came from turnover. You guys had a cash injection, as gift. It was not subordinate to the value of any asset so not subject to a return ruling. When you have success through that route you've purchased it. Using our method you earn it ergo it was out of earnings.
Abramovich..... one billion. Cash injection......
That's how the big clubs win things Robbo.
Putting money in isn't exclusive to Rovers.

Predictably Gollum gives a couple of half-hearted non contribuions from different accounts. But what's got into Rovers fans in general this summer? They're experiencong a collective psychological meltdown that reads like a single manic depressive is editing every post. They have reason for hope, a squad still with quality, excellent individuals, an overseas owner still pumping cash in, FFP in some dispute - but they obsess and whine and whinge about the best football story to come out of the championship for 20 years. BFC - a beacon for every FL club in England. Boards talking of achieving things the 'Burnley way' managers seeing the collection is worth more than the parts, the Rovers way is dead. But they need to get over themselves and lighten up a bit. Their depressed fans are like a 25 point deduction before the season even starts.

I would and its till wrong. FFP exists (flawed structure) because there is a growing recognition that its wrong. Its unfair play. Hence the need to introduce fair play.

I don't think there's any meltdown, just ongoing progress and optimism, though I do think you're living in self-congratulatory cuckoo land. A beacon for all clubs?? I refer you to my comment above - it wasn't beyond belief for Bradford, Oldham, Swindon, Shef Utd, Barnsley etc - just look where they are now and what heights they've since scaled.

Only one way for your beacon to go my friend. Future turmoil beckons.....

Your turmoil isn't future, SNC, it's happening to you RIGHT NOW.

Get some help instead of posting countless disturbingly worthless on-going drivel every single day for years and years and years.

And all that effort has produced what for you? Not a single pathetic attempt at stit-shirring has ever produced one incidence of correctness, that's for sure.

You're as wrong an wrong gets on every single level so the sooner you stop projecting and begin rehab, the less anguish.

Explain again why you chose your particular username then Mr Burnley fan?

I am honest and say I support Burnley unlike you crispy cuckoo butty boy, who just pretends.
Another thing, I'm far to big a unit to end up in A&E unless I was hit by a falling T34 or 18 wheeler carrying concrete blocks. You on the other hand have a build like olive oil poppeye's squeeze, you pencil necked twig.

Well you always have been. You've been living in denial since day one and have never once got one single stit -shirring (Sp) attempt correct. You're the forum's cooler who'll be waiting forever to get one 'prediction' correct. You were wrong on every single thing (more than a dozen a day) last season and you will be consistent in that for this season.

It's only your low IQ that prevents you from being embarrassed at your own stupidity.

You were wrong on every single thing (more than a dozen a day) last season and you will be consistent in that for this season. It's only your low IQ that prevents you from being embarrassed at your own stupidity. Get some help. You need it more than anyone whose (not 'who's' as you wrote yesterday) postings I've ever read on any on-going forum in the history of the internet. Chris P Bacon

There you go again Crispy. You can't help yourself but attempt to sling mud and you're wrong yet again. You're symptomatic of someone who's in denial about their club. Face up 'man', your embarrassment of a club has achieved nothing greater than Bradford, Oldham, Swindon, Shef Utd, Barnsley etc. Yet you all continue to fluff yourselves blind about it. It's simpy because you've ha nothing to cheer about for a very long time. Similar to your solitary win against the Rovers in 35 years. AP4B and my good self are here as public service to make sure you don't run away with yourselves before the certain and inevitable fall back in to oblivion. There is no prediction, just certainty and only time is the variable. Either this season or next. Future turmoil beckons....
