Pupils from Padiham Primary School are the latest to book their place in a spectacular of sport after in they took victory in High Five netball tournament.

The team from Padiham competed against 23 schools from Burnley at Sir John Thursby College to finish in first place.

They will progress to SPAR Lancashire School Games county finals where they will be up against other netballers from across Lancashire.

Helen Tyson, Burnley School Games Organiser, said: “Well done to all those that played and contributed to the tournament’s success, including Grace Turner of Padiham Primary for her stand out performance.

“A massive thank you to our netball coach Jane Moodie of Ribble Valley Netball Club and all the young umpires that have supported the competitions.

“I would like to congratulate Padiham for their win and wish them the best of luck for the Lancashire School Games netball finals. Burnley county netballers will be cheering them on from the side-lines.”

Around 3,000 primary and secondary pupils from across the county are expected to take part in the School Games County Finals.
