PAKISTAN CC made it three wins out of three in the latest round of matches to go top of the Accrington and District Cricket League.

In a league programme affected by the weather, only two of the three matches got the go ahead.

Pakistan were up against Kashmir and were put in to bat first.

And the leaders were bowled out for 96, after a display a fine bowling and some canny field placements by Kashmir fielders.

Wickets were distributed between six bowlers with seven of them falling so to the slow bowlers, as Pakistan CC’s weakness against spin and lack of pace was exposed.

However, this was as good as it got for Kashmir, as their reply began disastrously.

Within the first eight overs they were four wickets down with only 10 runs on the board. Wickets fell at regular intervals thereafter as the Kashmir batsmen were unable to cope with the swinging ball, succumbing eventually to 56 all out. Naveed was Pakistan CCs most successful bowler taking three wickets for seven runs.

Pakistan CC go top of the ADC league by virtue of the the AFM Multan v Azzak game being called off due to a waterlogged pitch at Wilsons playing fields. The Azzak deputy captain Khizar Kopri was disappointed with the called off game but looked forward to next week’s top-of-the-table clash with Pakistan.

He said: “Although I’m not happy that the game got called off, I am looking forward to next week’s game as I am confident we will be able to knock Pakistan CC off top spot.”

Bottom club Mirpur CC played Attock, in the league’s second game.

Attock batted first and managed to get to 131 all out, as the last wicket fell in the 29th and penultimate over of their innings.

Waseem Ashraf was Mirpur’s most successful bowler with 3-20 off his 6 overs. He was also one of three batters who got more than 20 runs in their reply as they managed to chase Attocks total with relative ease – winning by six wickets with seven overs to spare.

Top scorer was Mirpur’s Arshad Mahmood with an aggressive 24 runs.
