DARWEN Under 11s kept up their recent fine form with another magnificent victory over the hotly-tipped Ramsbottom.

Fresh from their great win over Haslingden the previous week, Darwen went in to the clash in confident mood.

Ramsbottom won the toss and put Darwen in to bat which proved to be a costly error as ā€˜CJā€™ and Oliver Atkinson set the tempo with good defence and some lusty drives.

After walloping one straight back to the bowler for what was the only Towers wicket to fall, Oliver made amends in the next over, pulling a short one for a big six.

Solid performances followed with Shawayz, Harry, Oliver, Kye, Sam and Ethan all finding the boundary at regular intervals to close the innings on 258.

Ramsbottom got off to the worse possible start with a run out in the very first ball.

Tight lines from the Darwen attack frustrated the visitors and wickets fell at regular intervals. Harry Hulme took three wickets and CJ chipped in with two wickets bowling an unorthodox right arm round.

Rammy closed on 211 ā€“ a total that was not just down to some fine bowling but some excellent fielding as well.
