Accrington and Rossendale College in partnership with The Lancashire Spinners – formely the Rossendale Raptors – are set to launch the all-new Basketball Academy in September.

The Academy offers opportunities for students to gain professional basketball experience on and off the court alongside the Lancashire Spinners. Students will have an opportunity to learn from the best what it takes to make it at the next level including individual coaching sessions with professional players.

Academy students will compete in the British Colleges League and potentially in the Spinners National League teams. Through the partnership with Rossendale Raptors, players still developing in the sport will get an opportunity to play competitive basketball both at College and in an appropriate club team.

Ken Masser , Head Coach of The Lancashire Spinners said "We're really excited to be working with the College to deliver a basketball academy next year. We are putting together a terrific programme that will offer on court basketball training, as well as opportunities to learn more about basketball from a coaching, officiating and business perspective. "

Anyone who is interested in basketball, regardless of ability, should come along to the open day on the 28th at Hyndburn Leisure Centre between 10am and 1pm and apply to be part of the academy.
