The Carlsberg Clitheroe & District snooker league recently held its presentation evening at the Billington Brass Band Club.

The evening was very well attended and were treated to the top comedian Jed Stone followed by a buffet and the trophy presentations.

For the first time in several years, there were two divisions, with the Clitheroe Royal British Legion taking the First Division title with the Clitheroe Con Club being runners up for the second year in a row.

In the Second Division Waddington took the title in a closely contested campaign, with Low Moor B coming a very close second.

The cup KO final was a tale of two halves, with the Legion boys taking a commanding lead on their own table in the first leg, only for the Chatburners to overturn the points deficit in the return leg and stopping the RBL from completing the double.

In the singles KO competition, Low Moor veteran Marc Holmes won the final 2-0 defeating the 2013 singles champion in Clitheroe Con Clubs Stuart Whittaker. Marc had previously being the runner-up on three occasions and he also took the leagues highest break trophy.

The doubles KO was a very closely competed game, with the Clitheroe Social Club duo of Eric Barnes and Dave Moore just pipping Chatburns Paul Clark and Gary Simkin to the title.

The league committee would like to thank Carlsberg for sponsoring the league.
