BILLY Walpole and Richard Crewe, who compete for Blackburn with Darwen Acrobatic Gymnastics Club, will be in action at the British finals at Stoke on Trent this weekend.

The men’s pair won gold at the North West Regional tournament at Wigan’s Robin Park and they head to the Potteries with club mates Andrew Mares, William Duffy, Reece Holmes and Josh Brown.

The men’s four also landed gold at the same event to make it a double celebration for the popular club.

Walpole and Crewe will also compete at Fenton Manor as part of the North West team at the finals in the regional competition.

Blackburn with Darwen had several athletes in action at Wigan’s Robin Park, with women’s pairs Ria Barton and Rose Stancliffe coming third while Alyssa Wrennall and Freya West landed fourth spot.

There was also a fine show from Jessica Henderson, Carla Hughes and Aimee-Leigh Emms who came third in the grade three women’s trio.
