Richard Taylor, the chairman of the Forty Club cricket team has presented a player of the match trophy to Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School.
The Arthur Kerfoot trophy, named after the former groundsman of the East Lancashire Cricket Club, was given to the 40 Club’ by his widow.
The QEGS player of the match will be nominated by the umpires and managers.
The fixture between the QEGS 1XI against the Forty Club at Alexandra Meadows was rained off, so the trophy will be presented for the first time at the QEGS Old Boys v MCC game on Thursday, which also takes place at East Lancashire CC.
The Old Boys team has been selected and will be managed by former QEGS teacher and the chairman of the Houldsworth Solicitors Ribblesdale League Brian Woodhead, while the MCC XI will be captained by Old Blackburnian Duncan Whalley.
All are welcome to attend the game.
The Forty Club is a group of players over the age of 40 from local leagues who look to promote cricket.
