Charlie Hills' charge has perhaps failed to live up to expectations so far but he showed enough in a string a decent middle-distance efforts last term to suggest he has a future in this kind of event.

The Arch gelding was a winner over a mile and a half at Haydock last August before going on to finish fourth in a competitive event at Ascot, with the winner Excellent Result scoring at Group Two level in Dubai over the winter.

Hills then stepped him up to a mile and six furlongs back on Merseyside but he could not pick up well enough after his rider employed some conservative tactics at the start of the race on what was his final outing of the year.

Glenard was again given plenty to do on his seasonal bow over two miles at Kempton in March, but was noted making good progress at the business end of the race to finish sixth, beaten just two lengths in a blanket finish.

He should stripper for that and if he is the horse that connections thought he was then he can his mark over this trip with relatively few miles on the clock and having scraped in at the bottom of the weights.

Terrific is the sole Aidan O'Brien-trained runner in the Weatherbys Private Banking Cheshire Oaks and merits plenty of respect in a race Ballydoyle representatives have won three times in the last 10 years.

Winner of two of her three juvenile starts, Terrific turned in an excellent effort on her return when finishing third to stablemate Dazzling in a Navan Listed heat.

She looked in need of every yard of the 10 furlong trip that day, getting a bit outpaced before staying on best of all to be beaten just under two lengths.

As a daughter of Galileo, Terrific is bred to relish this near mile-and-a-half trip and while it remains to be seen if she is a true Investec Oaks contender, she is certainly a likely winner of this trial event.

Tom Dascombe loves a winner at his local track and Roodee should be primed for the Manor House Stables Lily Agnes Conditions Stakes.

The Kodiac colt hit the mark at the first time of asking at Ripon last month and while Chester presents a thoroughly different test, he demonstrated an excellent attitude that should stand him in good stead.

Dougal will be hard to beat in Gatwick Diamond Business 60th Year Maiden Stakes at Brighton as he has all the hallmarks of typically forward juvenile from the Hannon team.

A son of Zebedee, Dougal was beaten a length by a well-regarded rival who already had the experience of a run on his debut.

It will be a surprise if this well-named colt cannot hit the target at the second time of asking.

Zeteah is worth watching in the T.M. Lewin, Shirts, Suits And More Classified Stakes as she looked the type to improve over the winter.

Rome has shaped well in two starts for Gary Moore this term and can strike gold in the BetBright Moneyback Offers Handicap at Kempton.

Trained by the late Sir Henry Cecil as a juvenile, he finished third in two starts in 2012 before a prolonged period off the track.

Returning to action for Moore this spring, he has shown plenty of ability and his narrow defeat at this track last time puts him top of the list for compensation.

Badger Foot is the pick in Kelso's Bedmax Handicap Chase, while Whisky Yankee can take the Dave Veysey Happy 50th Birthday Handicap Hurdle at Worcester for Jonjo O'Neill.
