BLACKBURN aces, The Ivy, are celebrating after clinching the East Lancashire League title a year after winning promotion to the top flight.

The Ivy did it in style too, thrashing Enfield 4-0 in front of their own fans at Fishmoor Drive.

The Ivy’s championship success broke Rimington’s stranglehold on the league title, having won the title for the last six years.

The Ivy are in action tonight at Stacksteads St Josephs, while Burnley Athletic, who also came up last season, finished as runners-up.

Burnley signed off with a 2-1 win at Langho while Read United overpowered Stacksteads 5-2.

Rimington claimed third spot and Worsthorne and Colne United were relegated from Division One.

In the Second Division, Barrowford Celtic won the title with Burnley Belvedere the runners-up berth.

Whinney Hill won the Reserve Division title, with Mill Hill in second place.
