TWO members of Blackburn with Darwen ABC were in action at the weekend competing at a tournament organised by Gorton ABC Manchester.

First timer 14-year-old Adeeb Zulfiqar was up against Shan Khaliq from Moss side Fire Station in Manchester.

Adeeb, who stands just five foot four inches tall was up against a much bigger fighter.

However, in the first round it was clear that Adeeb had to work round the body area as his opponent would use his reach and try to keep him away.

He started by throwing two punch combinations to the body and by doing this he was having regular success opponent throw A similar pattern followed all through the contest and at the end of three rounds Adeeb was declared the winner by a unanimous points decision.

On the same bill 14-year-old Kieran Hunter Love was unlucky when he had to a settle for a loss on points against Lee Carrol of Bredbury and Stockport ABC. All the boxers will boxing on their home show on the May 23.

Adeeb was presented with a trophy by England Major Panel Official Mr Paul Angus.
