GOING UP: Dyche elated as Clarets win promotion

Lancashire Telegraph: Burnley fans party on the pitch Burnley fans party on the pitch

Burnley manager Sean Dyche was elated at the full-time whistle as his Clarets marched into the Premier League with two games to spare.

Dyche has led the unfancied Clarets into the top flight against all expectations and promotion was secured this afternoon with a 2-0 win over Wigan at a buoyant Turf Moor.

He said: "It’s another historical marker for the club. The good thing is that we have done it ourselves.

"We didn’t want Derby to slip up, we wanted to do it ourselves. It was fantastic from the lads.

"It's getting harder to win automatic promotion to the Premier League because of all the constraints on teams like ourselves. I'm extremely proud."

"The first goal they should keep showing on Sky because what a goal that is. If it was Arsenal they would be showing it every minute.

"We have got a bunch of people who are willing to go hard and be relentless and we have shown that all season. We have shown it again today with our mentality and our quality."

On reaching the Premier League, he said: "I am looking forward to it. The challenge. We will be written off immediately, tomorrow morning I am sure we will be written off. But then we were written off this season so we will see what happens."

Sean Dyche - you are a total hero, bring back reality to football with the budget you had and the true support of a board that is British and only for the club.
Next season - who cares right now, but we were only a fraction off staying up last time. With you, anything is possible.
Please stay and give us a full season at it - then the world really will be your managerial oyster!

Inspired leadership Sean. Please stay to finish the job and ensure Burnley's position as a truly deserved Premier League side. That will really secure your reputation as a Turf Moor hero. Thereafter, as MikeMada says, the world is your oyster.

I'll say this now, I do not care one jot what happens next season, we will indeed be written off and that lack of expectation is a weapon of Sean's. It's proved formidable this season.

Congratulations to Sean Dyche and his team.
The board must also be given some credit for his appointment.
Credit also must go to Eddie Howe who laid the foundations for this superb achievement after The Judas Coyle had ripped the heart out of this great Lancashire Football club
THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT TE FUTURE IS CLARET & BLUE WITH THE GINGER MAURINHO IN CHARGE !!!

Congratulations from a Rovers fan - I hope that Dyche is given decent money to strengthen the team for next season but does not waste it and lose the soul of this current team that got you there. I don't think he will to be honest.
The football fan in me wants to see Burnley do OK next season as given how you've gone about it this season it'll put some honesty and integrity back into the Prem.
Lets be honest no one will resent Gerrard / Rogers lifting the perm trophy but would you say the same for Suarez ?
Enjoy the summer

Congratulations on your well deserved promotion from an AFCB fan. Good to see success for some of our ex-players and the start that Eddie put in place with your team continued successfully by Sean Dyche. I stayed in Earby a couple of weeks ago and was speaking to a couple of old-boy Clarets fans, both gents and a pleasure to meet them. Wish we could join you iat the next level, not looking too likely now, but maybe next season.

You where written off this season..and luck what happened. No one deserved promotion more than Burnley, not even Leicester, on a small budget you have been there abouts all season. As a Rovers fan i should be jealous..but i am not!...i am pleased for you and hope you do well in the prem. CONGRATULATIONS!

Congrats to all at Burnley FC, brilliant achievement, proper football management, proper football played, proper team players who play for the Club....... All my life I have despised Prima Donnas ( Nursery Rhyme boys) started with them taking the poor mans "George Best" , and even today they take the limelight from the Clarets by hogging the headlines with the sacking of a poor choice for manager. Burnleys board could give a few lessons on how to appoint and financially run a football club to the Jigsaw town , and prove that money does not solve everything..........
.... Sean Dyche is the nearest thing to perfection in football today. Magnificent Burnley.............
....who cares about the Chicken breeders now?????

This has been a lesson in proper management. What must Watford and the clubs who have spent millions and failed think? He has brought superb organization and instilled a regime into a small squad of players. Some of whom are very clever, have taken Dyche’s teachings on board and will be fine in the PL. Really words are not enough. It’s pure joy.
