CLITHEROE star Luke Tasker is in line for his Modern Pentathlon World Cup debut in China.

Tasker is part of a six-strong Great Britain team competing at the event alongside London 2012 Olympic silver medalist Sam Murray, also from Clitheroe.

Tasker, who is studying Sports Performance at the University of Bath, finished 27th at the International Budapest Cup in Hungary a week ago where Murray came home sixth.

Murray will begin her campaign today in the women’s heats before the final on Friday while Tasker is scheduled to make his World Cup debut tomorrow when the men’s heats take place. The final is on Saturday.

Both could also be in action in the mixed relay on Sunday with the British squad yet to name their side for that event.

Murray is joined in the women’s team by Kate French and Freyja Prentice while Sam Curry and Tom Toolis join Tasker in the men’s squad.
