Lancashire Telegraph: Rovers waiting on Etuhu injury Rovers waiting on Etuhu injury

BLACKBURN Rovers are waiting to discover whether Dickson Etuhu has suffered a fresh injury setback.

The midfielder limped off at the end of Tuesday’s 2-0 home win over QPR after his introduction as an 85th-minute substitute.

Etuhu, who also made a late cameo off the bench in Saturday’s 2-0 home victory over Ipswich Town, complained of pain in his hamstring and is currently undergoing medical assessment.

The Nigeria international made just one appearance for Rovers last year after a serious knee injury ruled him out for 11 months.

But shortly after making his comeback in November’s 3-0 defeat at Brighton and Hove Albion, Etuhu sustained ankle-ligament damage following an accidental training ground clash with Leon Best.

Strikers Jordan Rhodes and Rudy Gestede also appeared to pick up knocks in the win over QPR but both will be fit for the weekend trip to Sheffield Wendesday.

We're not worried.... Venkys can worry about that but they don't seem to be doing so as they're still putting money IN
£35,000 might seem like a lot from someone from Burnley....Just think how many houses you could buy over there with that.

Dear Mr Etuhu,

As a fellow Nigerian I hope you will help a brother in need. For many years I have been writing to people claiming to be a member of our Royal Family who needs to get money out of the country. You know the one, 'let me use your account and you can keep 10% of the millions I need to transfer'.

Well brother times are hard and gullible fools are thin on the ground, which leads me to ask "what is your secret ? Where did you find these people ? How did you manage to get so much money for doing absolutely nothing ? ! "

Please understand, I will take any advice you can give me. You are a true hero, and a legend here in your home country .

Katanga !

Unfortunately for you (And hilariously for us) Dixon Etuhu signed a FOUR YEAR deal on 3rd August 2012.

I bet this guy laughs his arse off on his way to the ATM every week. Absolutely stealing a living and happy to sit out 'injured', that's a problem with so many of our players is that they don't care for the club. Best, Campbell, Lowe are just a few to name. Even Rhodes can be lazy. Partly down to poor management and our poor fan support.

Perhaps GB ought to get some tips from Sean Dyche as the Dingles have had hardly any injuries all season (until recently, of course) with their small squad. Dyche must be doing something right!

Looks like the Rovers are stuck with Etuhu as nobody will want him off us and that will obviously not be any good, especially when he is on such huge wages and reducing the wage bill where he is concerned would GREATLY help.

Nice one, I think Steven Reid handed it over to Vince, but Etuhu seems to be making a home there, he's probably worried that if he leaves it for more than a few minutes Dunny might put his pie down and nip in there himself.

There's not much charity evident in the above posts for one of our players. Does anyone seriously believe this player is happy being injured? He was visibly distressed at the end of Tuesday night's game knowing that something else had gone wrong. If he can regain fitness and stay injury free for a prolonged period, I think he could play an important part in Rovers' push for promotion next season.

Etuhu, Best and Campbell are costing us around 5 million a year in wages alone. It would be cheaper to give them a million each to buy out their contracts.
Short of one of them being convicted, there is no way we can get rid of them and I doubt that they are part of Bowyers future team plans.

Etuhu could be a decent player if he was fit - he's strong enough in the middle of the park to make an impact. There seems to be a massive hate for him because he was in a squad which involved Danny Murphy and Steve Kean.

At the end of the day he could theoretically give us the much needed edge from set pieces and corners which we currently lack. Aim for Rudy is the only real strategy in this position.
