Burnley striker Sam Vokes has been diagnosed with a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
Sam picked up the injury during Saturday’s game against Leicester City at Turf Moor and scans have since revealed the extent of the injury.
The Welsh international will now be seeking specialist advice this week and everyone at Burnley Football Club wishes him a speedy recovery.
Fellow striker Danny Ings continues to make good progress in his recovery from an ankle injury and is expected to rejoin the squad soon.
Burnley manager Sean Dyche said: “Sam has had a great season and I am sure you will join us all in supporting him during his recovery.
“As ever, our team mentality remains focused and this represents another opportunity for someone to come and make a continued contribution in the closing weeks of the season.”
