BLACKBURN Rovers right-back Adam Henley will not play again this season after injuring his ankle in Saturday's 1-1 home draw with Leicester City.

Rovers boss Gary Bowyer said: "Unfortunately that might be Adam’s season finished which is a great shame for the lad and for us.

“He gone to defend a cross and he’s gone right over on his ankle.

"The diagnosis at the moment is before he’s back playing again the season will have finished."

Rovers are away to Watford tomorrow.

Pity, I know the lad was not having the best of days against Leicester but he is young and was learning his trade, we may have seen the best of him next season giving him valuable game time, if/when it becomes impossible to get to the play offs I would expect GB to give these younger players a chance, ready for next year.

It's injury after injury down at Ewood Park these days as the no-dads hopes of a mid-table finish are dealt another blow..

I don't want to sound harsh but this news doesn't bother me very much. He's a poor player in truth. Hope he makes a good recovery but thank the lord this forces GB in to a change

He's a young player playing in an unsettled team that is undergoing massive change, however well he is playing, and he has been going through a rough time of late, he always gives 100%, something a high percentage of more experienced and expensive players failed to do before GB got rid of them.

Young players often have dips in form and confidence, he is no different and hopefully once fit he will be challenging for a place again.

Captain Dreckley says...

Can only wish the lad a rapid recovery and to keep his focus on getting fit for pre season. He has had a difficult season but he is young and learning his trade and certainly not one of the couldn't give a damned brigade of last season who were not fit to wear the shirt. Right back has been a real problem area all season so it will be interesting to see how GB adapts.

Very true nick, EW simple question, a young man learning ORR a loud mouth useless full back?

A Rover 45 years and over says...

Hope he gets better soon, He has got lots of pace and always puts a shift in but his decision making has been poor of late and has been a target by most opposing teams as a weak link therefore has been given a hard time. But in fairness he never hides and keeps trying. Hope GB doesn't try to bring another player in because even he knows that the play offs are finshed for this year even with 10 games left.He has enough players to jig around with as it is. He should be made to work with the players he has already brought in this year I have counted at least including loans

In the last 14 months and prior to this latest injury, he's had 2 hamstring tears, 2 concussions (playing for the U21s) and a long standing achillies problem. To see what he's capable of when fully fit log into Rovers Player and watch the away game at QPR.

He is young BUT he hasn't been playing well and I think most people would rather see Todd Kane at full back. If we are not going to be keeping Kane we might as well play Jason Lowe there. At least then we will see if that is a future option for us as we all know he can't play in the middle. Also when Jason burst into the team it was at right back.

Jason Lowe has never 'burst' anywhere.

That's not the point, if Lowe had been fit I am pretty certain he would have played at right back on Saturday, it's a position I prefer to see him in anyway.

But Lowe was injured.

Both Kane and Hanley have been put through the mill for the last couple of seasons, both have their faults, Kane is quicker than Hanley and probably tackles better but he can't head a ball for toffee.

Looking at the injury problems we have had this season, especially down the right hand side isn't it any wonder that this is the real problem area for us?
