What are your expectations for Rovers for the rest of the season?

THE play-offs are a very tall order yet there are still plenty of games left to pick up points.

But now there’s no expectation I hope the team can relax and enjoy their football, as a team without pressure can often be very difficult to play against. Many would regard it as a disappointing season without a promotion push yet considering the dire straits we were in last year, I give tremendous credit to Gary Bowyer for reducing the wage bill, reducing the age and improving the quality of the squad, and also our league position.

I THINK we now have a chance to assemble a side capable of promotion next season and finish as high as possible.

The promise that is evident in the young side must be nurtured by the fans as well as the management.

Some of the crowd turned on the side as soon as Burnley equalised in the derby and that carried on into the Bournemouth game. Yes Rovers were wretched but it hardly helped matters.

Rovers can now play free of play-off expectation and perhaps build momentum that continues into 2014-15.

I FULLY expect Rovers to finish mid-table so my pre-season thoughts have not changed.

The team is not experienced, consistent or creative enough to realistically challenge the top teams in the division despite the 19 players signed by Mr Bowyer.

The manager still has a lot to learn. He is not as tactically astute as he needs to be and still doesn’t know his best team.

Hopefully with time and some quality additions to an unbalanced squad the Rovers team will mature and become a force to be reckoned with.
