GOLDEN boot Chris Gallagher struck a hat-trick as The Ivy climbed four points clear at the summit of Division One with a 3-0 win over Mill Hill.

Burnley Athletic, in second place, suffered a shock defeat, though, losing 5-2 to Read United.

Champions Rimington remain in the championship hunt after a hard fought 3-2 win at home to strugglers Langho and they are not giving up their trophy without a real fight to the finish.

Calder Vale overcame Oswaldtwistle St Marys by the same scoreline, but Worsthorne, locked in the bottom three, crashed 5-0 to Rock Rovers.

Stacksteads St Josephs moved into fourth place with a comfortable 4-2 win over Enfield.

Whinney Hill and Borrowdale United shared nine goals in the Division Two match of the day, with Whinney Hill edging it 5-4 at Towneley Park.

Barnoldswick Town United and Canberra drew 1-1.

Rampant Mill Hill are charging towards the Reserve Division title after a crushing 7-0 win over Burnley Belvedere.

Oswaldtwistle St Marys were also big winners, cruising to a 5-3 win at Rock Rovers, while Langho got the better of Colne United 4-3.

In the Bob Little Cup first round, Burnley Belvedere and Peel Park drew 2-2 in an entertaining tie.
